FAQ's

Q. How do I find care with you?
A. 1) Care Search Request form - Click here Once we receive your request we will get back to you with provider names and address' within 24-48 hours. Once you receive names, we ask you to call the provider and book an interview(s) and let us know how the interview(s) went.

A. Please let us know and we will confirm with the provider that is a yes from them as well. From there we will book you in for a contract signing. The forms we need filled out for the contract signing can be found on our website under parent files - contract signing. Please bring in the following complete paperwork; application for care, emergency card, immunization record and media release. If you do not have access to a printer please stop in the office and pick up these forms.

Q. When are payments due?
A. Payments are due on the 1st of the month for the months care. For example: January payment is due on the first for January's care. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Debit, E-Transfer, cash and cheque. We can also process your credit card monthly as well.

Q. What if I can't pay on the first?
A. First and for most please call us prior to the first to discuss your payment, we will do our best to work with you. Payments received after the 5th of the month are subject to a $50 late fee. Payments not received by the 10th of the month are subject to default (cancelling your contract).

Q. What are your agency fees?
A. Our agency fees are $75 per month

Q. How do I apply for subsidy?
A. We can help you in the office to complete your subsidy at your contract signing appointment. We would need you to bring in you and your spouse (if applicable) line 150 of you most current notice of assessment, photo id as well as ID for your child(ren) (birth certificate or Alberta health card). We will also have a form that needs to be signed by you and your spouse (if applicable). If you need we can email you the form please just let us know. Once the application has been submitted we will have an immediate conditional approval available.

Q. What happens if my provider is sick?
A. We will arrange back up care with one of the other providers within our agency. You will be given a back-up package at your contract signing, this will have all children's record and will need to be given to the back-up provider upon arrival.
Q. What happens if my child is sick?
A.Illness is defined in the family day home standards manual as
a. A child vomiting, having a fever, diarrhea or a new unexplained rash or cough.
b. A child requiring greater care and attention than can be provided without compromising the care of the other children in the program.
c. A child having or displaying any other illness or symptom the staff knows or believes may indicate that the child poses a health risk to persons on the program premises.

If a Provider notices that a child exhibits any of the signs or symptoms listed above, the Provider must ensure that:

a. The child's parent(s) arranges for the immediate removal of the child from the program premises.

b. The child does not return to the program premises until the Provider is satisfied that the child no longer poses a health risk to others in the program. (e.g. - the parent providers a physician's note, the parent declares the child has been symptom free for a minimum 24 hours, or the Provider contacts Health Link Alberta to determine if the child no longer poses a threat to others.)


Q. My child needs to have medication, can my provider give it to my child?
A. Our policy is no medication (including prescription or non-prescription, emergency medication and herbal remedies) may be given by the provider without written authorization from the agency as well as verbal confirmation from the agency, who has already received parent permission. If you child needs to be given any medication, please contact us or stop in the office so we can fill out the medication approval form with you. We will contact your provider to review the medication instruction and let her know the medication has been approved for them to administer.

Q. Where do I find the agencies policies?
A. Agency policies can be found on our website under Parent Forms – policy and procedures. Our parent handbook is also available online under Parent Forms.

Q. How do I cancel my contract?
A. The first 30 days in any contact are a trial for both parents and provider, which means the contract can be cancelled at any time without penalty. After the first 30 days parent and providers agree to give each other 30days written notice.
